World Tree Day and International Day of Forests | Planting today the future of tomorrow

As part of the celebrations of World Tree Day and the International Day of Forests, Balbino & Faustino was present on March 23 at EB1 do Bárrio and at the Alfeizerão School Centre, promoting the initiative “The Importance of the Forest”, aimed at children attending the 1st Cycle of Basic Education.

During the session, topics addressed included:

-The importance of forests for biodiversity, soil, water and climate;

-The role of native species in preserving natural ecosystems;

-Balbino & Faustino’s connection to forests and to the responsible management of wood, based on sustainable practices and chain-of-custody certification.

The initiative also included the practical activity “Roots of the Future”, which involved planting native trees and shrubs, creating a living legacy within the school spaces. The children committed to caring for the plants and monitoring their growth.

Sowing knowledge among younger generations is also a way of caring for the future of our forests.
